LET'S WORK TOGETHER!

To get started, fill out the form below.

PREP:

WHAT SIZE SHOULD MY BACKING BE?

Here's an easy way to remember: Four-for-four! :) I require the backing to be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller. Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask.

I'm passionate about being able to give you results you will love. Teamwork! :)

WHAT SIZE SHOULD MY BATTING BE?

Batting must be at least 2.5" larger than the quilt top on all sides.  Keep in mind that as the quilting occurs, batting can draw in, so it is important to have plenty of extra batting.

KEEP IT SECURE

If you have piecing on the edges of your quilt, rather than a border, consider sewing a "stay stitch" about 1/8" all the way around the perimeter of the quilt to ensure that the seams stay closed.  As the quilt is loaded onto the frame, pressure is placed on the seams.  Stay stitching stabilizes the sides of the quilt so that they do not open.  It is well worth the 5-10 minutes it takes to sew.

TIDY IT UP!

Please press your top and backing so that it's nice and tidy and ready for me to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!  Finally, be sure to check for loose seams.

MARK THE TOP

If you have directional fabric on either the top or backing, mark it with masking tape or a note with a pin.  We don't want your backing to be in the wrong direction!

QUILTING CHOICE

I want this to be fun for you and not overwhelming! If you're not sure which pattern to choose, you have the option of having a consultation with me or I can just make the quilting decisions for you.  Let's get it done!
